Tetra Tech is seeking the services of a Communication and Knowledge Management consultant to develop a Knowledge Management plan for USAID’s Sustainable Water and Sanitation in Africa (SUWASA) project under a short-term consultancy, including:

• Conducting an audience analysis to identify the knowledge needs of target audiences in the Africa water and sanitation community;
• Identification of methods and tools to capture knowledge generation under SUWASA.
• Mapping exercise and preparation of a comprehensive list of existing networks, communities of practice, websites and other on-line resource dealing with water and sanitation and proposals on how SUWASA can leverage these.
• A clear proposal for the overall platform architecture including the IT tools needed to achieve a well-designed platform.
•  Fully costed knowledge management strategy and work plan detailing the various KM activities to be carried out in the remaining duration of the program.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• An advanced university degree in Communications, Information, Knowledge Management, or Information Science. Alternatively, a first level university degree with combination of relevant academic qualifications and experience in knowledge management may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• Mastery experience in the field of communications and knowledge management including the use of multiple and innovative media in designing, developing and marketing of online knowledge management platforms and development of knowledge management strategies.
• Experience in the water sector preferred, but strong familiarity with water and sanitation issues in Africa may be accepted in lieu of experience.
