Like the previous Knowledge Cafés in this series, this session responds directly to the priorities and requests shared by community members during KM4Dev’s 25th-anniversary celebration in 2025. Participants called for stronger partnerships, greater practitioner resilience, better knowledge retention and more peer support, particularly during times of change and transition.
What does it really mean to “have each other’s backs” within a community such as KM4Dev?
KM4Dev is a network, but it is also much more: it provides a living container for collaboration across four interconnected scales:
The network
The team
The conversation
The individual
We need all four scales to collaborate effectively and to co-create, preserve, translate and apply knowledge. Together, they help build the relationships, trust and mutual support that make both individuals and communities more resilient.
This highly interactive Knowledge Café will begin with a short role-play, followed by two-minute reflections on each of the four scales of collaboration. Participants will then explore the ideas in small breakout groups before returning for a collective debrief.
Join us to reflect, connect and explore how we can strengthen collaboration across all four scales, and truly have each other’s backs.
